ORLANDO — An amusement park patron is suing Universal City Development Partners Ltd. for alleged negligence.
Karin Combs filed a complaint on June 27 in the Orange County Circuit Court, alleging that the amusement park failed to provide a safe environment for its patrons.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that while she was being seated for one of the rides in defendant's theme park on Sept. 11, 2015, a careless employee allegedly slammed the restraints of the ride onto plaintiff’s head, causing serious physical and psychological damages. She also alleges that she suffered further injuries from the defendant's failure to stop the ride after the accident.
The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to design, operate and maintain the ride to ensure the safety of its patrons, properly supervise maintenance personnel and promptly and properly provide her with medical assistance.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages that exceeds $15,000, costs, attorney’s fees and further relief the court deems just. She is represented by Trent Swan of The Pendas Law Firm in Orlando.
