Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company accused of breaching contract

Contract 01

ORLANDO — Two individuals are suing Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company for alleged breach of contract.

Osvaldo Rego and Ana Perez filed a complaint on June 26 in the Orange Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that their property sustained damages on January 29 due to windstorm damage. While the defendant allegedly issued payments for the loss, it allegedly undervalued the extent of the damages.

The plaintiffs hold the defendant responsible for allegedly refusing to honor its contractual obligations by failing to provide complete payment for the plaintiffs’ covered loss.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant for damages, pre-judgment interest, attorney’s fees, costs and other relief the court deems fair. They are represented by Harold Levy of HL Law Group PA in Fort Lauderdale.
