ORLANDO — Parents are suing Adventist Health System/Sunbelt Inc. for alleged negligence and liability.
Paul and Daryna Delpadre filed a complaint on June 23 in the Orange County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant failed to exercise the standard of care and skill required of medical providers and facilities.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that their infant child began showing signs of infection on April 30, 2015, including respiratory insufficiency, abdominal distension and edema after a surgery performed by the defendant's medical doctor. The plaintiffs claim that the child continues to suffer from numerous ongoing health issues after being discharged.
The plaintiffs hold the defendant responsible because for allegedly failing to properly diagnose and treat the patient's deteriorating condition and injuries, which allegedly could have been prevented or significantly reduced.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant for compensatory damages, costs, interest and other further relief the court deems proper. They are represented by Robert H. Dellecker, Kenneth J. McKenna and Samuel P. King of Dellecker Wilson King McKenna Ruffier & Sos in Orlando.
