ORLANDO — A couple is suing St. Johns Insurance Company Inc. for alleged breach of contract.
Devince and Marie Dorcin filed a complaint on June 23 in the Orange County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that their property suffered physical damage on Jan. 10, 2016. The defendant, however, allegedly denied coverage for the damages, despite the plaintiffs allegedly filing a timely claim seeking coverage under their insurance policy.
The plaintiffs hold the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to provide coverage or payment for the damages, and for allegedly obligating the plaintiffs to retain an attorney to enforce the policy.
The plaintiffs seek judgment for damages against the defendant, including interest, costs, attorney’s fees and all equitable remedies or other relief that may be appropriate. They are represented by Ian M. Alperstein of Florida Professional Law Group PLLC in Hollywood.
