Wal-Mart Stores Inc. allegedly failed to take safety measures

CLEARWATER — A customer is suing Wal-Mart Stores Inc. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Dondeena Crabtree filed a complaint on June 30 in the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida - Pinellas County, alleging that the defendant failed to keep its premises in reasonably safe conditions.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was a customer at defendant's Wal-Mart store in Oldsmar on September 6 when she slipped and fell on a wet substance that was on the floor. She allegedly has suffered injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, loss of earnings and medical and hospitalization expenses. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly permitting a hazardous condition to exist on its premises and for allegedly failing to warn her of such condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages from the defendant and costs for this action. She is represented by Maryann Furman of the Nurse Lawyer PA in Palm Harbor.
