FORT LAUDERDALE — A company is suing Citizens Property Insurance Corporation for alleged breach of contract.

Surf City Distributing LLC filed a complaint on June 13 in the Broward County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that its property sustained physical damages on February 10 due to the accidental discharge of water. However, the defendant allegedly has failed to provide coverage for the loss.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly obligating it to retain and pay for the services of a legal counsel to represent and protect its interests, and for allegedly refusing to pay the full amount of the insurance claim.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for damages, attorney's fees, court costs and further damages the court deems just. The plaintiff is represented by Sagi Shaked of Shaked Law Firm PA in Aventura.
