Law money 03

FORT LAUDERDALE — An assignee is suing Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company for alleged breach of contract.

G&R Plumbing Inc. a/a/o Lee & Carol Wallace filed a complaint on June 13 in the Broward County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that its property suffered water damage on December 10 from a broken copper pressure pipe. Though the defendant allegedly responded to the loss by assigning a claim number, it allegedly denied coverage.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly breaching the insurance policy by failing to pay the full amount of the plaintiff's invoices to repair the damaged property.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for all unpaid bills with interest on any overdue payments, costs and attorney's fees. They are represented by Marilyn Eisler of Florida Professional Law Group PLLC in Hollywood.
