ORLANDO – A Seminole County woman is alleged to still owe money for restitution to her former employer after an alleged scheme.
ProActive Technologies Inc. filed a complaint on June 19 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Lisa Dawn Nanda alleging civil theft, fraud and unjust enrichment.
According to the complaint, the defendant was employed by the plaintiff as a human resources manager at its Orlando office from 2008 to March 2012. The plaintiff alleges that the defendant sent at least 18 unauthorized payroll checks to a checking account belonging to her without its consent. It alleges the defendant stole $44,220.68. The suit states the defendant was charged with grand theft in the second degree and four counts of fraudulent use of personal identification information in May 2014.
The suit states that the defendant pled guilty to grand theft and was ordered to pay restitution. The plaintiff alleges that the defendant still owes $16,902.90.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for damages, costs, expenses, interest, and further relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Nichole M. Mooney and Tim W. Sobczak of Dean, Mead, Egerton, Bloodworth, Capouano & Bozarth in Orlando.
