Motorist alleges injuries after collision with underinsured driver in Pinellas County

CLEARWATER – A woman is seeking underinsured motorist benefits from her insurer after a collision on Ulmerton Road.

Alysha Phelps filed a complaint on June 20 in the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida - Pinellas County against Shanthasaotuban Sithravadivel and State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 10, 2016, she suffered serious and permanent injuries when the vehicle she was operating was struck by defendant Sithravadivel's vehicle, an underinsured motorist, on Ulmerton Road. The suit states she contacted defendant State Farm for uninsured motorist coverage for the injuries and losses she sustained. 

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $15,000, plus costs and all other relief to which she is justly entitled. She is represented by Christian Pipas of Pipas Law Group in St. Petersburg.
