CLEARWATER – A Florida woman alleges that a Hyundai vehicle she purchased has defects that have not been repaired.

Mary Elizabeth Michaels filed a complaint on June 20 in the Pinellas County Circuit Court against Hyundai Motor America Corp. alleging that the car manufacturer violated the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 3, 2015, she purchased a 2016 Hyundai Elantra from a seller for approximately $24,655. Shortly after purchase, she alleges experienced various defects with the Elantra and that such defects substantially impaired its use, value and safety.

The plaintiff holds Hyundai Motor America Corp. responsible because the defendant's authorized dealer allegedly failed to adequately repair the vehicle in a good and workmanlike manner as provided in the warranty.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks incidental and consequential damages, attorney's fees, court costs and all further relief as the court deems just and appropriate. She is represented by Nicholas Lacina of Khron & Moss LTD in Chicago.
