CLEARWATER – A Palm Harbor dependent taxing district alleges that a St. Petersburg corporation and a Dunedin corporation failed in the installation of a floor.
Palm Harbor Community Services Inc. filed a complaint on June 20 in the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida - Pinellas County against Stiles Flooring Inc. and Professional Carpet Systems alleging breach of contract and negligence.
According to the complaint, in late 2015, the defendants installed vinyl planking in the plaintiff's front lobby office. The suit states that the planks shifted and that glue seeped through the planking numerous times and that the plaintiff has suffered damages from the defective work.
The plaintiff holds Stiles Flooring Inc. and Professional Carpet Systems responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to install vinyl planking in a good and workmanlike fashion.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $15,000, plus interest, costs and all further relief that is just and proper. It is represented by Andrew J. Salzman of Unice Salzman Jensen PA in Trinity.
