Homeowner claims Praetorian Insurance Co. breached contract with claim payment

Insurance 06

ORLANDO – An Orlando property owner alleges his insurer breached the insurance contract by failing to pay for property damages in full.

Michael Parker filed a complaint on June 16 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Praetorian Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 11, 2016, while his property's insurance was in full force and effect, his property sustained a covered loss as a result of water damage. The suit states that the defendant inspected the property but did not pay the full extent of the damages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for damages, prejudgment interest, statutory attorney's fees, and costs. He is represented by Scott M. Janowitz and Gilberto J. Barreto of Janowitz & Barreto PLLC in Coral Gables.
