Homeowners seek benefits from Castle Key Indemnity Co. for roof, water damages

Insurance 03

ORLANDO – Orlando homeowners allege that their insurer wrongfully denied their claim for roof damages.

Boris Rodriguez and Heather Rodriguez filed a complaint on June 16 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Castle Key Indemnity Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Dec. 26, 2015, their insured property sustained covered losses and/or damages when wind created an opening that allowed water through it. The suit states that the defendant denied their claim for damages.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against defendant for insurance benefits, plus prejudgment interest, all interest on any past benefits not timely paid, costs, attorneys’ fees and further relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Alejandro L. Marriaga of The GM Law Firm in Orlando.
