Woman alleges University Hospital's negligence caused her to fall at facility

FORT LAUDERDALE – A Tamarac medical facility is facing a suit from a woman who alleges she was injured in a fall.

Claudia Cohen filed a complaint on June 7 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Broward County against University Hospital LTD, doing business as University Hospital and Medical Center, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 3, 2013, she slipped and fell on defendant's hallway after stepping out of an office because of a liquid substance there.

The plaintiff holds University Hospital LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly negligent by allowing the substance to remain on the floor.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for damages of more than $15,000. She is represented by Jason G. Barnett of Law Office of Jason G. Barnett PA in Fort Lauderdale.
