FORT LAUDERDALE – A Pennsylvania resident alleges that slippery paint used for a crosswalk at a Davie shopping center caused her to fall.
Frances Petro filed a complaint on May 31 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Broward County against FR. Florida Inc., doing business as FRIT Florida Inc.; Florida Pavement Services Inc.; and Native Lines LLC alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 6, 2014, she was lawfully on the Tower Shops Shopping Center when she slipped and fell due to the negligently and unreasonably slippery white painted crosswalk surface that was wet due to rain.
The plaintiff holds FR. Florida Inc., Florida Pavement Services Inc. and Native Lines LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to warn plaintiff of the dangerous conditions and walking hazards, failed to provide the safe ingress and egress to its parking lot.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for damages and costs. She is represented by Sarah Alexis Cohen of Cohen and Cohen PA in Hollywood.
