CLEARWATER – A Pinellas County woman is seeking more than $15,000 over alleged injuries she sustained when she was rear-ended in Largo.
Bernice Lyons filed a complaint on June 2 in the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida - Pinellas County against Kerensa Upchurch and James E. Upchurch alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 9, 2015, Kerensa Upchurch carelessly operated the motor vehicle owned by James Upchurch and struck her vehicle from behind while she was stopped at a red light at the intersection of East Bay and Keene Road in Largo. She alleges she sustained serious injuries to her neck, head, limbs and body.
The plaintiff holds Kerensa Upchurch and James E. Upchurch responsible because the defendants allegedly defendant Kerensa Upchurch failed to yield right of way and failed to use reasonable care to avoid collision.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $15,000, plus costs and interest and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by Joshua T. Chilson of Johnson, Pope, Bokor, Ruppel & Burns LLP in Clearwater.
