Taco Bell patron alleges sweet tea was contaminated with cleaning solution

Medical malpractice 07

ORLANDO – A diner at an Apopka Taco Bell restaurant alleges that she was injured because the sweet tea she was served contained cleaning solution.

Nancy Carapia-Gomez filed a complaint on June 8 in the Orange Circuit Court against Taco Bell of America LLC, Jane Doe and John Doe alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 30, 2015, while she was in the restaurant of the defendant, she immediately began vomiting and suffered abdominal pain and burning in her throat after consumption of a sweet tea. The suit states that the drink was found to be contaminated with a cleaning solution.

The plaintiff holds Taco Bell of America LLC, Jane Doe and John Doe responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to inspect the beverage served to plaintiff and failed to effectively separate cleaning solutions from beverages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for damages of more than $15,000, plus interest and costs. She is represented by Chad S. Lucas of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
