Tipsy Salonbar Inc. did not pay correct rate for overtime work, former employee claims

Law money 13

ORLANDO – A former employee of an Orange County salon alleges that she was not paid the appropriate rate for overtime work.

Candace Tirado filed a complaint on June 7 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Tipsy Salonbar Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendant as a front desk coordinator from February to April. The plaintiff holds Tipsy Salonbar Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep or provide an accurate record of its employees' hours worked and failed to compensate its employees with overtime wages at a rate of time-and-one-half of her regular rate of pay.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, liquidated damages, attorney's fees, costs and further relief as the court deems just. She is represented by James J. Henson of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
