Property owner claims American Security Insurance failed to pay for all damages

ORLANDO – An Apopka property owner alleges that his insurer failed to pay all the benefits for damages to his home.

Andres A. Novoa filed a complaint on June 7 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against American Security Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 1, 2015, while his property's insurance policy was in full force and effect, he discovered wall and floor damage to his home. The suit states he applied for insurance benefits from the defendant but that the defendant failed to pay all benefits due.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for general and special damages, full cost of repair or replacement of property, prejudgment interest, court cost, expert fees, attorney's fees and further relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Robert L. Nipps of Robert L. Nipps PA in Tampa.
