CLEARWATER – A Florida contractor alleges an insurance company has failed to pay it for work it completed on a Clearwater property.
Synergy Contracting Group Inc., as assignee of Elvira and Robert Karikas, filed a complaint on May 26 in the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida - Pinellas County against Universal Property and Casualty Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, on Sept. 6, 2016, the insured Karikas property was damaged by sudden and accidental water loss and they contracted Synergy to remediate the water and repair damages. To date, Synergy alleges it has not received full payment for services rendered to the insured property from the defendant.
The plaintiff holds Universal Property and Casualty Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed and refused to remit payment for plaintiff's services.
The plaintiff seeks payment for all unpaid bills, plus interest, attorney's fees and costs and such other just and proper relief. It is represented by Steven I. Batisti of Battisti Law Group PLLC in Reunion.
