Man files suit against Universal Property & Casualty regarding actual cash value of loss

ORLANDO – An insurance company allegedly failed to pay the full amount of the actual cash value of an insured loss, an Orlando property owner claims.

Alexander Ceballos filed a complaint on June 7 in the Orange Circuit Court against Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 25, his property suffered a covered loss causing sudden and direct physical damage to the insured property. The suit states that the plaintiff and the defendant are in disagreement about the determination of the actual cash value of the insured loss. The plaintiff alleges that the defendant failed to initially pay at least the full amount 

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant for damages of more than $15,000, plus statutory interest, court costs, and attorney's fees. He is represented by Kenneth R. Duboff of Duboff Law Firm in North Miami.
