Woman alleges Security First Insurance wrongfully denied claim for tile damage

ORLANDO – A woman alleges that cracked tile in her property is a damaged covered by her insurance policy and that her insurer wrongfully denied her claim.

Elizabeth Oquendo filed a complaint on June 7 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Security First Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 7, 2017, her property sustained a covered loss as a result of cracked tile. The plaintiff alleges the defendant was notified of the loss but it has not inspected the claim and later denied coverage.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages, plus interest, court costs, attorney’s fees and further relief as the court deems just. She is represented by David Low of David Low & Associates PA in Fort Lauderdale.
