FORT LAUDERDALE – A Michigan resident alleges she suffered damages after the plane she was traveling on went through an abnormal inflight depressurization and caused a very loud sound.

Lolita Allen filed a complaint on June 2 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Broward County against Spirit Airlines Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was on a flight operated by the defendant on June 3, 2015, from Atlanta to Atlantic City, New Jersey. She is seeking to recover damages for alleged economic loss, emotional trauma, physical pain and suffering and incurred medical expenses as a result of the purported negligence of the defendant in subjecting plaintiff to suffer an abnormal, rapid inflight depressurization that culminated in a deafening explosive sound.

The plaintiff holds Spirit Airlines Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain, inspect and service the aircraft and its pressurization system.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, award damages, costs, expenses, attorney's fees, interest and other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by David I. Katzman of Katzman, Lampert & McClune PLLC in Troy, Michigan.
