Florida Peninsula Insurance Co. alleged to have failed to pay appropriate amount for property damages

FORT LAUDERDALE – Miramar property owners allege their insurer failed to pay an appropriate amount for damages to their property.

Wilbert and Veronilda Velez filed a complaint on May 24 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Broward County against Florida Peninsula Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Sept. 20, 2016, their property was damaged by water. The suit states that the defendant acknowledged the loss but failed to make the appropriate payment of the damages claimed.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant for damages, plus interest, court costs, and attorneys' fees. They are represented by Mario Serralta of Mario Serralta & Associates in Miami Lakes.
