ORLANDO — A married couple is suing OHMS Electrical Corp., Debartolo Construction Services, Debartolo Development LLC and Jose Guzman, citing alleged negligence.
David And Karen West filed a complaint on June 2 in the Orange Circuit Court, alleging that the defendants failed to provide a reasonably safe environment for its business invitees.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that David West suffered bodily injury on July 23, 2013, resulting pain and suffering, impairment, inconvenience, disfigurement, mental anguish, medical expenses, loss of earnings and other damages. The plaintiffs also allege that Karen West will suffer the loss of her spouse's services, support, companionship. The suit claims that Guzman hit David West with a man lift while performing his job duties for the co-defendants.
The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to keep the man lift under proper control at all times, prevent the man lift from hitting a pedestrian and making the work site secure.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment for damages against defendants for compensatory damages, costs, interest and any such relief to which plaintiff is entitled.
