CLEARWATER – A woman has filed suit against and Oldsmar resident after she fell when a step collapsed behind her.

Colette Bishop filed a complaint on May 25 in the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida - Pinellas County against Frank Koch alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 21, 2016, she was an invitee at defendant's property and was returning to the defendant's home after walking his dog when a wood step collapsed and caused her to fall. She alleges the fall caused her bodily injury, disfigurement and medical and related expenses.

The plaintiff holds Koch responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain his residence in a reasonably safe condition and failed to warn plaintiff of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $15,000, costs of the action and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by Frank D. Butler and James S. Curtis of Frank D. Butler PA in Pinellas Park.
