ORLANDO – A Seminole County man alleges that his foot was injured by the stabilizer on a back hoe while working as a grave digger.
William Billy Lynch filed a complaint on May 31 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against SCI Shared Services Inc. and Rob Rawlings alleging gross negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 18, 2017, he and Rawlings were both employed by SCI as grave diggers and were working at Glenn Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park. The suit states the plaintiff suffered a catastrophic injury and resulted to pain and suffering, disability and loss of earnings when Rawlings in operated the backhoe so as to crushed plaintiff's foot with the backhoe's stabilizer.
The plaintiff holds SCI Shared Services Inc. and Rob Rawlings responsible because the defendants allegedly operated heavy equipment in a reckless manner and that SCI allowed an employee to operate a heavy equipment without proper training or certification.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for damages of more than $15,000, plus costs. He is represented by Debi F. Chalik of Chalik and Chalik PA in Plantation.
