FORT LAUDERDALE – A Hallandale condo owner alleges the property manager failed to repair water intrusion, which has caused damage to her unit.

Alina Glushkina filed a complaint on May 18 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Broward County against Meadowbrook Condominium Apartments Building #1 Inc. and Anibal Jose Orta Del Pino alleging breach of contract, negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that beginning in and around December 2016, she has suffered damages to her personal property from defendants' failure to cure the water intrusion coming from the upstairs unit directly above her unit, which is owned by Del Pino. As a result of the defendants' lack of maintenance of common areas and allowing a water leak to occur, the affected unit now requires repair and replacement of damage fixtures and assessment of the presence of toxic mold.

The plaintiff holds Meadowbrook Condominium Apartments Building #1 Inc. and Del Pino responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to acknowledge its responsibility to take proper remedial action to repair the problem, failed to timely hire a licensed professional to evaluate mold and microbial contamination, and failed to conduct adequate maintenance and inspection.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for compensatory damages, plus costs, attorney's fees. She is represented by Matthew J. Militzok of Militzok & Levy PLLC in Hollywood.
