CLEARWATER – A former resident of a Pinellas County nursing home alleges that the center failed to properly train its employees.

Minnie Swain filed a complaint on May 10 in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Pinellas County against Greenbrook NH LLC, doing business as Apollo Health and Rehabilitation Center, and Erin Olivia Blakely alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she resided at the defendants' care facility from December 2015 to April 2016. She claims she suffered physical and emotional injuries and will continue to suffer as such as a result of the negligence, violations, deprivations and infringements of plaintiff's rights by the staff.

The plaintiff holds Greenbrook NH LLC and Blakely responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to implement adequate care to prevent skin breakdown and failed to properly train, supervise and discipline employees on how to treat residents with care and protection.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for damages of more than $15,000, plus costs, interest, and other relief the court deems appropriate. She is represented by Al Ferrera of Morgan & Morgan PA in Tampa.
