Slip01

CLEARWATER – A Pinellas County consumer claims she was injured while shopping at a Winn-Dixie location.

Joni M. Miller filed a complaint on May 9 in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Pinellas County against Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 28, 2016, she went inside the defendant's St. Petersburg location to purchase items and she was injured due to a slippery foreign substance left on the floor. As a result, Miller claims she suffered physical injuries, loss of earning capacity and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain or adequately maintain the floor space in and around the entrance, failed to inspect the floor space and failed to warn invitees of the danger of slipping on the substance at the entrance of the store.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount of more than $15,000. She is represented by Jonathan Brozyna of Morgan and Morgan Tampa PA in Tampa.
