Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Co. accused of breach of contract

Insurance 08

ORLANDO – An Orange County property owner alleges that an insurance company has neither paid nor denied her claim.

Ieisha Wilson filed a complaint on May 8 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 7, her insured property sustained a covered loss for water damage due to a broken and/or leaking pipe. However, despite efforts of plaintiff to comply with all post-loss obligations, the defendant allegedly has yet to pay or deny the claim.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages of more than $15,000, interest, attorney's fees, costs and other relief that the court deems just. She is represented by Thomas J. Morgan Jr. of Morgan Law Group PA in Coral Gables.
