Woman alleges she was injured after slipping at Winter Park hospital

Slip02

ORLANDO – A Winter Park medical facility is alleged to have failed to maintain the floors on its property.

Kim V. Thomas filed a complaint on May 8 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Adventist Health System/Sunbelt Inc., doing business as Winter Park Memorial Hospital, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 25, 2014, she slipped on a foreign substance that had accumulated on the floor of defendant's premises. She alleges the incident caused her to sustain severe and permanent injuries, pain and suffering, medical expenses, aggravation of a pre-existing condition and lost wages.

The plaintiff holds Adventist Health System/Sunbelt Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain the floor of the premises in a reasonably safe condition, failed to warn plaintiff of the dangerous condition that existed, and failed to correct the hazardous condition of the premises.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages, costs and interest from the defendant, together with whatever other relief the court deems just. She is represented by Jessica J. Gonzalez-Monge of Rubenstein Law PA in Orlando.
