Driver alleges injuries after collision on I-4 in Orange County

Car accident 39

ORLANDO – A driver has filed a suit against another motorist after a collision on a highway in Orange County.

Maria F. Cardona filed a complaint on May 3 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Devora Alicea alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 20, 2016, she was driving on Interstate 4 and was stopped in traffic when the defendant rear-ended her vehicle. She alleges she has suffered bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, impairment, disability, inconvenience, aggravation of a pre-existing condition, mental anguish, loss or earnings and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Alicea responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to follow at a safe distance behind plaintiff's motor vehicle and failed to observe her surroundings.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages against defendant, together with costs, interest and other such relief deemed proper by the court. She is represented by Zachary A. Leacox of McBride, Scicchitano & Leacox PA in Orlando.
