CLEARWATER – A resident of a care center alleges that the Pinellas County business did not provide proper care.
Raymond J. Dikun filed a complaint on May 3 in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Pinellas County against 2600 Highlands Boulevard North LLC, doing business as Bay Tree Center, citing Chapter 400 of Florida Statutes.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he has suffered damages, including humiliation, falls and unexplained injuries, development and deterioration of malnutrition, dehydration and weight loss, as a result of the negligence of the defendant to properly monitor and supervise the care and treatment being provided by its agents to plaintiff.
The plaintiff holds 2600 Highlands Boulevard North LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide plaintiff with the appropriate nutrition and hydration, failed to protect plaintiff from foreseeable harm, and failed to properly notify the family and physicians of plaintiff of any significant changes in his health status.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for damages of more than $15,000, plus interest and costs. He is represented by William A. Dean of Ford, Dean & Rotunda PA in Miami.
