Homeowners file claim against American Integrity Insurance Co. of Florida over alleged roof damage

Contract 03

ORLANDO – Two Ocoee individuals allege their insurer has failed or refused to fully pay their claim for roof damage.

Thanh Du and Lan Du filed a complaint on April 28 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against American Integrity Insurance Co. of Florida alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on July 12, 2016, their insured property sustained a covered loss for extensive roof damage due to wind and hail. However, despite efforts of plaintiffs to comply with all post-loss obligations, the defendant allegedly wrongfully denied and/or underpaid plaintiffs’ insurance claim.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant for compensatory damages, interest, costs and attorney’s fees. They are represented by Derek Metts of Metts Legal PA in Winter Park.
