FORT LAUDERDALE — A former employee is suing Park Hotels & Resort Inc., citing alleged disability discrimination.
Daniel Pizzi filed a complaint on April 24 in the Broward Circuit Court alleging that the defendant breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was terminated on July 28, 2016 by the defendant despite knowledge of plaintiff's disability prior to his hiring and allegedly having performed his duties in an exemplary fashion during his employment. As a result, he contends that he has been exposed to ridicule and embarrassment and suffered emotional distress and damage.
The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible allegedly acting with malice, having reckless disregard for the plaintiff's rights and terminating him in bad faith without reasonable grounds.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, declaratory relief, back pay, benefits, interest, compensatory damages, reinstatement, costs of action, attorney's fees and additional relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Anthony M. Georges-Pierre of Remer & Georges-Pierre PLLC in Miami.
