ORLANDO – A New York woman alleges she was injured when she slipped at a Lake Buena Vista water park.
Nancy Acampora filed a complaint on April 24 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Walt Disney Parks and Resorts US Inc., doing business as Typhoon Lagoon, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 19, 2013, she slipped and fell on a wet substance on the floor near the wave pool on the defendant's property. As a result, plaintiff claims she suffered bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, inconvenience, mental anguish, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, medical expenses and loss of earnings.
The plaintiff holds Walt Disney Parks and Resorts US Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn patrons of the slippery walkway, failed to utilize non-skid paint and/or materials on the surface of the walkways, and failed to inspect and maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages against defendant for compensatory damages, costs, interest, and any such relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by John K. Overchuck and Kathryn D. Anderson of Overchuck Law Firm in Orlando.
