FORT LAUDERDALE — A parent is suing Katherine L. Corigan and KLC Law PA, citing alleged negligence.

Lindsay Owens filed a complaint on April 21 in the Broward Circuit Court against the defendants alleging that they breached their duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she has suffered damages including removal of her children from her custody and a forced relocation as a result of the defendants' negligence in performing their duties as counsel to represent plaintiff in a dependency case.

The plaintiff holds Corigan and KLC Law PA responsible because they allegedly failed to communicate with plaintiff, failed to attend hearings, failed to follow court orders and failed to appropriately and timely advocate on behalf of plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for compensatory damages and further costs. She is represented by Kenneth R. Segal of the Law Office of Kenneth R. Segal PA in Coral Springs.
