ORLANDO – A Polk County man claims his former Orlando employer did not pay him overtime.

Daniel Anderson filed a complaint on April 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division against Lykes Cartage Co. Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for the defendants as a dispatcher from July 2014 to January 2016 and routinely worked more than 40 hours per week. The plaintiff holds Lykes Cartage Co. Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay plaintiff for overtime compensation at a rate of one-half times his regular rate, failed to maintain proper time records of all hours worked, and failed to post informational posters as required by law advising its employees of their rights under FLSA.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, interest, attorney's fees, costs, expenses of litigation, and further relief the court deems just. He is represented by Kimberly De Arcangelis of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
