ORLANDO – A man alleges he was unlawfully terminated by his employer after being hospitalized.

Jude Hilles filed a complaint on April 14 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Petersen-Dean Roofing & Solar Systems Inc. alleging violation of the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Florida Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was hospitalized in April 2016 for depression. He alleges that when he spoke to his supervisor about returning to work on April 26, 2016, he was terminated.

The plaintiff holds Petersen-Dean Roofing & Solar Systems Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly interfered with plaintiff's lawful exercise of his FMLA rights.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages against defendant, back pay and benefits, interest, front pay, compensatory damages, injunctive relief, attorney's fees and costs, and other relief the court deems just. He is represented by Marc R. Edelman of Morgan & Morgan in Tampa.
