CLEARWATER – A Hillsborough County man is suing Pinellas County Regional 911 Department seeking the release of a nonredacted 911 call of a driver who allegedly left the scene of an accident.

Jonathan Foster filed a complaint on April 14 in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Pinellas County against Pinellas County Regional 911 Department alleging that the governmental services breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 15, he suffered injury and was harmed when an unknown motorist suddenly pulled in front of him, which caused plaintiff to lay his motorcycle on the ground to avoid the collision. The suit states it was later discovered that the 911 caller was the same unknown individual that caused the accident. However, the defendant allegedly provided redacted recordings to the plaintiff's counsel, which does not include identity of the caller.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant to produce the complete 911 recordings and further relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Mark H. Wright and Jana L. Keenan of Jayson, Farthing, Skafidas & Wright PA in Tampa.
