Passenger seeks damages after collision in Holiday

Car accident 05

CLEARWATER – A New Port Richey resident alleges she was injured when the vehicle she was traveling in was rear-ended in Holiday.

Sybil Lugo filed a complaint on March 28 in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Pinellas County against Madisyn Jensen, Christopher Booker and 21st Century Centennial Insurance Co. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 11, 2015, plaintiff claims she was a properly restrained passenger in a Toyota 4Runner traveling northbound in US 19 Alternate and was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Manton Lane in Holiday. While the vehicle was stopped, Booker's vehicle, being operated at that time by Jensen, rear-ended the vehicle in which the plaintiff was a passenger.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendant Jensen allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout, drove at an excessive rate of speed and failed to give due regard in attention to all attendant circumstances.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of costs and other further relief to which the court deems appropriate. She is represented by Megan Cummings of The Nurse Lawyer PA in Palm Harbor.
