Consumers claim Federated National Insurance Co. breached contract regarding water damages to property

Insurance 11

ORLANDO – Orange County residents allege their insurance provider breached its contract with them by failing to cover for water damage to their Orlando property.

Amenate Jacob and Solidieu Charles filed a complaint on April 4 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Federated National Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on March 26, 2016, their property sustained water damages that required reasonable, related and/or necessary repairs and replacements, as well as appropriate cleaning and other remedial measures. However, they allege the defendant refused to fulfill its obligations to pay for the repairs and replacements as covered losses in breach of its contract with the plaintiffs.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant for damages, interest, attorney's fees, costs and other relief that the court deems proper. They are represented by Thomas J. Morgan Jr. of Morgan Law Group PA in Coral Gables.
