Norwegian Cruise Lines passenger alleges injuries after collision on water slide with another passenger

Cruise 02

MIAMI – A Miami-Dade County woman alleges she was injured on a water slide on a cruise ship.

Gisela Llanes filed a complaint on April 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against NCL (Bahamas) LTD, doing business as Norwegian Cruise Lines, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 23, 2016, she sustained a fractured nose and injured her left hip and ankle when she became stuck in a waterslide on the defendant's cruise ship. The suit states the defendant's employees sent a second passenger down the slide while she was still stuck, causing them to collide.

The plaintiff holds NCL (Bahamas) LTD, doing business as Norwegian Cruise Line, responsible because the defendant allegedly allowed a dangerous and unsafe condition to exist and failed to train its employees on how to maintain the slide.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, damages of more than $75,000, punitive and compensatory damages, interest, costs and other relief deemed just. She is represented by Louis A. Vucci of Louis A. Vucci PA in Miami.
