Property owners allege Citizens Property Insurance Corp. failed to inspect property loss for claim

FORT LAUDERDALE – Two Broward County individuals allege their insurer wrongfully denied coverage for a property damage claim.

David Cross and Winsome Cross filed a complaint on March 21 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Broward County against Citizens Property Insurance Corp. alleging breach of contract

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Jan. 3, they sustained water damages to their Lauderhill property. However, they allege they defendant denied coverage for the loss, despite policy being in full force and effect and while sustained damage was covered by the policy.

The plaintiffs hold Citizens Property Insurance Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inspect the loss and the property in investigation of the claim.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant for damages, plus interest, court costs, attorney's fees, and further relief as the court may deem just. They are represented by David Low of David Low & Associates PA in Fort Lauderdale.
