Transworld Systems Inc. accused of calling wrong consumer to collect debt

Phone 03

TAMPA – A Tampa consumer alleges a debt collector harassed her with 600 calls in its attempt to reach an unknown third party.

Starr Coleman filed a complaint on April 6 in the Tampa Division of the Middle District of Florida against Transworld Systems Inc. alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that that the defendant has been calling her in an attempt to collect an alleged debt from an unknown individual and that in August 2015, she told it to remove her from its system. The plaintiff holds Transworld Systems Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly called the plaintiff using an automatic telephone dialing system even though she requested to stop calling her.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks award statutory damages, punitive damages, actual damages, costs, interest, attorney's fees and other relief the court may deem just. She is represented by Amanda J. Allen and William Peerce Howard of The Consumer Protection Law PLLC in Tampa.
