MIAMI – A former poker dealer alleges a casino failed to pay her a minimum wage.

Elizabeth Watson filed a complaint on April 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Gulfstream Park Racing Association Inc., doing business as Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked as a poker dealer for the defendant from January 2015 to November 2016. The plaintiff holds Gulfstream Park Racing Association Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly illegally claimed a tip credit for the plaintiff and did not pay its employees a minimum wage.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages and relief, liquidated damages, attorney's fees, costs and expenses, in addition to all other relief the court grants. She is represented by Christopher J. Whitelock of Whitelock & Associates PA in Fort Lauderdale.
