TAMPA – A Pinellas County consumer alleges Suntrust Bank has been harassing her with calls.
Patricia Randolph filed a complaint on April 4 in the Tampa Division of the Middle District of Florida against Suntrust Bank alleging that the debt collector violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that beginning in February 2016, the defendant began calling her in an attempt to collect an alleged debt. She alleges she has suffered and will continue to suffer from harm and injury from receiving harassing calls despite her repeated demands for the calls to stop.
The plaintiff holds Suntrust Bank responsible because the defendant allegedly engaged in an unlawful practice of using an autodialer to place calls to cellular phones without prior express consent to place the calls.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for statutory, punitive, actual and treble damages; enjoinder from further violations; and other relief the court deems just. She is represented by Octavio Gomez of Morgan & Morgan PA in Tampa.
