ORLANDO – A North Carolina man has filed suit against health care facilities and two doctors over allegations of wrongful death.

Harvey Jacobs, as personal representative of the estate of Verlene Jacobs, filed a complaint on March 13 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Orlando Health Inc., Orlando Health Inpatient Medicine Group, Dr. Alan Chan and Dr. Mark Steiner alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Verlene Jacobs went to the defendants' emergency room on March 25, 2015, with complaints of chest pain, abdominal pain and other issues. The suit states that while Verlene Jacobs was under the care of defendants, she suffered personal injuries that ultimately led to her death.

The plaintiff holds Orlando Health Inc., Orlando Health Inpatient Medicine Group, Chan and Steiner responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to appropriately and timely evaluate and treat decedent's medical condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages as allowed by law. He is represented by Pamela A. Padilla of Martinez Manglardi PA in Kissimmee.
