Consumer accuses Healthcare Receivables Group of improper debt collection practices

Late 04

JACKSONVILLE – A Yulee consumer alleges a debt collector failed to report an account as disputed on her credit report.

Dawn Scott filed a complaint on April 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division against Healthcare Receivables Group Inc. alleging that the debt collector violated the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages to her credit standing and reputation from defendant's re-reporting of plaintiff's alleged debt on her credit report. She alleges she disputed the alleged debt in December 2016 and found in January the defendant failed to list it as disputed by consumer.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant, actual and statutory damages, attorney's fees, costs, declaratory relief, costs, expenses, disbursements and further relief as the court may deem just. She is represented by Michael Jay Ringelheim of RC Law Group PLLC in Hackensack, New Jersey.
